KC Center for Urban Agriculture is Hiring a Full-time Development Director

The Kansas City Center for Urban Agriculture is hiring a full-time Director of Development to manage all aspects of our fundraising activities.

KCCU is looking for professional fundraising in the following areas:

· National and local foundations and corporations. Researching, submitting, and reporting.
· Researching, submitting, and reporting on federal and state grants programs. We currently have two federal grants in place.
· Individual contributions. Twice annual direct mail solicitations and major donor solicitations. We need support in list development and maintenance, relationship building, major donor identification and solicitation (including development of written, display, and ppt materials), and donor recognition.

Qualifications: Must have a minimum of two years of diversified fundraising experience and excellent writing and research skills. Must be interested in the emerging local food movement and in the role of food and agriculture in the urban community. We are looking for someone with a high energy level, good multi-tasking skills, enthusiasm, initiative and flexibility. Because of limited office space at the Center, the Development Director will need to be able to work from home.

Hours & Compensation: Full-time, salary in the mid to upper twenties, with fully paid health insurance, vacation, a monthly allowance for cell phone and home internet access, and fresh vegetables from our farm. We are also inviting proposals for contract work addressing specific areas.

Application process: Send cover letter, resume and two samples of your writing to Katherine Kelly, Katherine@kccua.org, by April 30, 2008.
